Enabling change

For successfull business transformation it is important to discuss valid future scenarios with responsible stakeholders.

Our scenario guides the visitor through a visionary walkthrough of the narrative “Future Retail”. We integrated customization options for each paticular demo case to be able to adapt the narrative with names, logos, colors and online web-services for specific stakeholders and industries.

For didactical reasons it was important to us to create a strong interplay between visitors and guides. Therefore our system integrates numerous stage props, nearly all of which are digitally connected and can be used for interactive storytelling by all participants. The demo scenario can be controlled via various physical touchpoints in the room, multiple smartphone apps and body movement.

The innovation lab includes smartphones, smartwatches, transparent shop-windows, dynamic interior lighting, a sales-counter with product-personalization, and an interactive POS with wall-mounted digital displays, tracked products, and 3D customer tracking. In addition it allows for easy integration of separately developed web-based demo cases and video-based demo systems.

Our system is based on full web-stack technology and dedicated real-time graphic systems communicating via a MQTT-controlled backend for customization, content management, and logic events.

Customization is quick and allows automated smart systems to respond appropriately and intelligently to the individual actions and desires of customers.

Future retail

The retail scenario includes a wide range of use cases, starting at home in the living room, following a ROPO model (“Research online, purchase offline”) using various apps, smart devices, configurators, payment types, and analytics applications. We created a multi-channel shopping and Everywhere Commerce scenario which integrates Telekom cloud services.

Digital Shop Window

The facade of the retail store in the scenario includes a high-resolution transparent interactive shop window.

It facilitates various Proximity Marketing scenarios, which can be activated by geofencing, iBeacon, or NFC.

The window dynamically reacts to individual customers walking through the streets with personalized media content. The product desired by the customer is reveiled, once the customers interacts with the screen by shaking the smartphone.

The transparent screen was developed in cooperation with Samsung.

Virtual Fitting Room

As an example a of a personalization scenario for jewelry we created a real-time 3D hand and object tracking program that allows for an exclusive virtual fitting-room experience at the POS.

Data is transferred from the cloud account of the customer and their hand is visualized in 3D wearing the pre-configured ring.

In-Store Analytics

We visualized various in-store analytics scenarios for store operators by using a rich point-cloud animation which integrates data from various 3D depth cameras and NFC sensors.

The time spent by visitors watching, touching, or otherwise engaging with a product is measured and can be visualized with numeric data and special visual effects.
