Ata Macias, creative entrepreneur, musician, DJ and renowned local hero presented his oeuvre in a multifaceted exhibition in collaboration with Museum Angewandte Kunst (Museum of Applied Arts) in Frankfurt. To display the extensive archive of Ata Macias, MESO conceptualized a digital light installation that highlights the different creative phases of his “applied arts” approach. A center-mounted rotary disc controls nine overlapping projectors blending an encyclopedic collage of photographs, record covers, sketches, and graphics.

Various projectors map different graphic elements on top of each other. While the images move over the wall, they are cut and overlayed with graphical elements within the boundaries of the projection trapezoids. Stock projectors with standard optics are used to cover the whole room, making this a low-budget production.
Custom-designed software allows visitors to use the disc to explore the retrospective by shuffling through or viewing individual work phases in detail.
