We realized a “Photo Field” consisting of 32 little TFT monitors, driven by four Windows computers running vvvv, and a barcode reader for UBS. Employees could register on the system’s web site and upload their favorite photos or create collections of photos of their colleagues. With a barcode printed from the website employees could then enter the installation, scan their barcode and then view photos from their own collection as well those from the collections of their co-workers.
While the web interface was crafted from our own CMS system “aspect:ratio”, the local setup relied entirely on vvvv. Using state-of-the-art computer technology, each computer was easily capable of feeding eight XGA outputs to the monitors. VVVV facilitated a very cost-effective solution with its excellent multi-monitor support.
